1960 356B 1600S Roadster

Roadster round 2

Porsche’s 356B was offered in two drop-top variants, one being the Cabriolet, and the other, the Roadster. The Cabriolet featured a thick convertible top and plenty of options while the Roadster carried on the ethos of the Speedster with its light-weight framed soft top, removable windshield frame, Speedster-like dashboard, and no back seat cushions.

This 1960 356B 1600S Roadster might look familiar as it was sold back in October at a final bid of $126,500. Unfortunately, the buyer didn’t come through with the payment. Back then, I wrote:

“356s have had a rough few months with the majority of cars on offer failing to sell, and when they do, we’re seeing some deals. This 1960 356B 1600S Roadster comes out of 62 years of family ownership and has been refinished in Red over a Gray leather interior. The seller’s father did most of the work on the car and while it looked to be in good condition, they couldn’t answer many of the questions asked by potential bidders. It sold at a final bid of $126,500, which was a steal compared to the $195k average. Very well bought.”

This time around the seller was much more communicative and even had a showing for the car on Saturday. I’m not sure if anyone took them up on it, but everything they did differently paid off as it sold at a final bid of $136,000. IMO, still very well bought for a nice numbers-matching Roadster. Congrats to both parties on this one.
