1960 356B Beutler Coupe
That's a 356?

The Porsche 356 Beutler Coupé emerged when Ferry Porsche tasked Swiss Carrosserie Gebrüder Beutler with crafting a refined version of the 365, something a bit less sporty and more elegant. What emerged was a car built on a Volkswagen Beetle chassis enhanced with Porsche brakes and running gear along with a 1.6-liter Porsche engine. This new 2+2 coupe first appeared at the 1957 Geneva Motor Show, but was short lived as only five examples were built.
This 1960 Porsche 356B Beutler Coupe was one of the two prototypes built on the 356B platform and came finished in Cream over a Red interior. It was sold new by Brumos Porsche of Jacksonville, Florida, and spent time in Texas before being acquired by its most recent owner in 1999. The car came out of long-term storage and probably needs some sorting, but what an opportunity to own a rare, coachbuilt Porsche.
As only five examples of Beutler Coupes were built with only four known to still exist, putting a number on this one is quite difficult. The only comp I have on record is the sale of the Geneva Show car that sold here at Amelia back in 2020 for $395,500*. That car had come out of recent restoration, so given the fact that our Spotlight car will need some work, I think the $300-400,000 estimate was a bit high. It sold for $235,200* all-in, which sounds about right. Get this one back up to snuff and it should be right up there with the other given the rarity.
