1974 911 Coupe

An original G-Body with service history since new

The 1974 911 marked a pivotal moment in the 911’s evolution with the introduction of the G-Series, which had to adapt to new safety and emissions regulations while maintaining the 911s iconic design and performance. To meet U.S. crash standards, impact bumpers with accordion-style bellows were added front and back, a design feature that would define the G-Series look for a number of years. Other changes included forged aluminum rear trailing arms and thicker anti-roll bars to significantly improve handling and ride quality along with a more refined interior for enhanced comfort.

This 1974 911 Coupe came finished in Green Metallic over a Black vinyl interior and showed just over 69,000 miles (TMU) on the five-digit odometer. On the inside, the car featured a wood-rimmed steering wheel along with Rennline racing pedals and had its rear seat removed. Condition-wise, the car showed normal wear and tear with chips and nicks noted on the outside, stains on the interior headliner, and a missing gearshift boot on the inside. Service wise, it included a binder full of records going back to the original purchase. Now that’s impressive.

While average prices for Base G-Body 911s from ‘74-75 have been around the $55,000 mark, we don’t see them at that price as they are either around $75k or just over $40k, no middle ground. Our Spotlight car was closer to the latter as it sold at a final bid of $46,000. About right for the condition, but a decent buy considering the service history.
