1974 911 Coupe 5-Speed

With history since new and a great story, how could this little Yellow 911 not win?

New for 1974 was the introduction of impact bumpers on the 911, designed to comply with U.S. safety regulations while preserving the can’s unmistakable silhouette. Also updated for ‘74 was the flat-six under the decklid, now a 2.7-liter featuring a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system to meet increasingly stringent emissions standards. These changes marked a pivotal moment in 911 history, blending evolving regulation with Porsche’s commitment to its iconic sports car.

This 1974 911 Coupe 5-Speed came finished in its original Light Yellow over Tan vinyl seats with Beige velour inserts. While the seats are replacements, originals are included with the sale along with the original steering wheel, which was replaced by a MOMO Prototipo unit. The car has been well maintained over the years and includes a binder full of documentation since new with recent work including a reseal in 2023 along with replacement of the the ignition control unit, battery, and upper valve covers. Also in that binder were old pictures of the 911 with its original owner, which sparked a story or two (or five) in the comments. Ah, memories.

I loved everything about this car, and it looks like bidders did as well. A great story, tons of service, and a very communicative seller. Early G-Bodies have risen in price over the last few years, sitting at around $45,000 in late 2020 and rising to around $57,000 over the past twelve months. Our Spotlight car beat that average selling at a final bid of $64,700. A great price for ‘Peep’ for both seller and buyer. Well done.
