This Modified 911T Was a Deal

Good Morning! I hope you’ve got great driving weather wherever you are in the world today, nothing but rain here in the Northeast. But rain can’t ruin my mood this morning as the Stuttgart Market Letter crew is all set to head to Atlanta in June for the Broad Arrow Auctions 75th Anniversary Porsche sale. Will we see you there?

If you’ve been around the auction scene long enough, you start to see regulars. Not just friendly faces at the live auctions or bidder’s handles online, but also cars that seem to run through every few years like this modified 1975 911S Coupe.

Our Spotlight car has been a regular on the online auction scene since 2019. It’s a very nice build by well-known Porsche shops Kelly-Moss Road and Race; and Rothsport Road and Race. The engine is a 3.6-liter monster with quite a list of modifications and the suspension features quality bits to make this a corner carver.

The car is finished in Cockney Brown which is actually its original color and it sits on real 3-piece BBS Motorsport E28 wheels with magnesium centers. The interior is full of custom leather covering period-correct Recaro racing seats, the dashboard, and RS-style door cards. Everything about this car just screams quality and performance. It’s a very nice build.

When we first saw this car on PCARMARKET back in August of 2019 it failed to sell at a high bid of $175,800 but later found a home in the Deal Tank for $195,000. Just over a year later the car brought a high bid of $152,000 and failed to sell. The next time we saw this car was in February of 2022 on Bring a Trailer where it sold for $162,000 followed a few months later by another no-sale at $167,000 on PCARMARKET where it then again sold post-auction in the Deal Tank for $170,000.

I told you this one was a regular.

Now, after less than a year of ownership, we see it back on PCARMARKET selling at a high bid of $150,000 with only 2,000 more miles than when we first saw this car sell back in 2019. Oddly, while all the other Porsches have been going up over the last four years this one has been heading in the opposite direction. It’s still the same great build in what appears to be better mechanical condition and only a few more miles. I’d say the buyer got a deal here. Well done.
