1977 911 Turbo

An icy project for one lucky bidder

I always love a good project, and this 1977 911 Turbo fits in that category for me as I prefer the earlier 3.0-liter cars and absolutely love the Ice Green Metallic paint on this one. But, the winning bidder has their work cut out for them.

Having been repainted at least once, the car now wears RSR-style bumpers and shows a sagging driver’s door as well as rust-through near the battery, bubbling around the rear of the roof, and various dents and scratches. On the inside, the interior is fairly worn with tears in the seats, but that 930S steering wheel is a nice plus.

Mechanically, the car comes with a pile of service records but you could just throw those all out as an engine rebuild is most likely in this Turbos near future, same for the transmission. Other noted issues include some electrical gremlins along with missing air conditioning and heating systems. But hey, it’s a project.

The market for early 930 Turbos has been on a bit of a decline since 2022 with average prices just shy of $160k propped up by a handful of very strong recent sales. But if bought right, this one could be up there once all is said and done as who in their right mind could pass up a refurbished Ice Green Metallic Turbo? So how did our winning bidder do? Well, it hammered at a final bid of $75,000, which does give them some room to work with here. Based on the comments though, I think they’re keeping this one once all of the planned work is completed. The way it should be. Enjoy the project!
