1977 911 Turbo
Did this ultra-low mileage 930 beat the current 12-month high set by The White Collection?
If I’m going for a 930 Turbo, it’s going to be one of the earlier 3.0-liter cars as they offer more of a raw, and often terrifying, drive compared to the later 3.3-liter cars. This is due to the sudden and explosive turbo lag and much more rudimentary suspension offering a more visceral, and challenging driving experience which earned it the nickname, “The Widowmaker.”
This 1977 911 Turbo was in absolutely stunning condition as it shows just 4,300 miles on the odometer. Finished in Silver Metallic over Black leather, this example shows extremely well in the hundreds of pictures provided in the gallery and even had its engine rebuilt in 2012 with plenty of other components replaced over the last few years. Basically, a brand new 930.
Early 930 Turbos have been on a downward trend since the beginning of 2022 when averages were just shy of the $200k mark and a high sale of $544,000 for a very early 1975 69k-mile example in Salmon Metallic. Since then, averages have come down about $50,000 and the highest sale we’ve seen was $390,000 for the 8,200-mile car from The White Collection. Our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $305,900, second only to The White Collection car over the last twelve months. Given it had less mileage, I’d say this one was well-bought.
