1979 911SC Targa
With only 20 miles since it's last sale, the final bid was on the money

Introduced in 1965 in response to proposed US safety standards when it came to convertibles, the 911 Targa became a fixture in Porsche’s lineup. Even after the introduction of the 911 Cabriolet in 1983, the iconic design of the Targa roof was just too good not to keep in the lineup and continues to be one of Porsche’s top model choices today.
This 1979 911SC Targa came finished in a very attractive Yellow over Brown interior and showed 89,000 miles on the odometer. It was purchased by the seller on Bring a Trailer in December of 2023 at a final bid of $61,000 and since has had just 20 miles and a bit of work as evidenced by the invoices in the gallery. The car appears in decent condition with paintwork noted on the right side along with a few blemishes and a chip in the windshield. A very attractive car for a Sunday driver.
Over the last twelve months, 911SC Targas have averaged just above $50,000 with a high of $93,000 for a 33,000-mile just last month and a low of $20,000 for a project. Our Spotlight car sold above average, but just slightly lower than it’s last purchase price, hammering at a final bid of $60,964. Fair deal for a sorted example.
