1982 911 Turbo 5-Speed RUF BTR Lightweight

It's going to be a RUF August

Get ready for a RUF August as we have a number of RUF-modified and RUF-VINd Porsches coming up starting with this 1982 911 Turbo 5-Speed RUF BTR Lightweight conversion.

Purchased new in Germany, this Turbo was immediately sent to RUF Automobile GmbH for the conversion that included a displacement increase to 3.4 liters via a widened bore and the installation of RUF-specific pistons, cylinder heads, and camshafts. A higher-capacity intercooler was fitted and boost pressure was increased for an output of 374 horsepower.

On the outside, the front and rear bumpers were replaced along with other RUF specific, lightweight components for a total savings of almost 200lbs. The suspension was also modified by RUF with Bilstein shock absorbers and the 16” Fuchs-style wheels were painted in white. On the inside, the car sports Recaro Idealsitz SR seats trimmed in Black cloth with Houndstooth inserts along with a RUF pedal set and RUF tachometer.

The car currently shows 83,321 miles and the seller notes paintwork on the hood, front valance, rocker panels, and wheel arches. Maintenance-wise, the car has received almost $30,000 in service since August 2023, which should put any questions about mechanical condition to rest.

We’ve seen this car before, as it sold at a final bid of $157,000 back in November 2023. This time around, it hammered sold at a final bid of $206,000. A good clip above its previous sale, but lower than some other BTRs we’ve seen over the years. I’m going with well bought here as the legend of RUF continues to grow.
