1988 944 Turbo S Silver Rose

This auction regular is back again. How'd it fair this time around?

If I were to add a 944 Turbo to The Whitlock Collection, it would be a 944 Turbo S Silver Rose. Originally, all Turbo S 944s were to be produced as special edition Silver Rose examples with Silver Rose Metallic paint over a Burgundy Studio Plaid cloth interior and limited to just 1,000 units. But Porsche ended up building around 1,600 Turbo S’ with just 720 cars ending up as Silver Rose examples.

This 1988 944 Turbo S Silver Rose is finished in that great color combination of Silver Rose Metallic over a Burgundy Studio Cloth interior and shows 96,000 miles on the odometer. For the mileage, the paint is in good condition showing some wear and a few high meter readings around the car indicative of some paintwork.

On the inside, the Studio Cloth has held up well showing little in the way of wear with excellent bolsters and high touch points looking good. Mechanically, the car has been well kept with the seller providing a bunch of service receipts in the gallery along with hundreds of detailed pictures of the car. A very well presented example of one of my favorite 944s.

This particular example is no stranger to the online auction scene as we’ve seen it twice before, first selling for $40,250 back in December 2021 and then again for $48,500 in July 2023. It failed to sell this time around at a final bid of $40,250, which in my opinion is close to where it should have hammered considering the miles. I think that $48,500 sales price was way too well bought previously.
