1989 911 Carrera Coupe 25th Anniversary Edition
A new high for Porsche's quarter-century celebration
1989 not only marked the final year of Carrera 3.2 production, but also the 25th year of 911 production. To celebrate, Porsche released 500 25th Anniversary Editions, 300 of them being Coupes and 200 Cabriolets. The majority were finished in Sliver Metallic and all cars featured a Silk Grey Supple Leather interior and painted 16” Fuchs wheels.
This 1989 911 Carrera Coupe 25th Anniversary Edition is one such Silver Metallic car and shows just 57,000 miles on the odometer. The Silver Metallic paint is in excellent condition as shown by the hundreds of detailed photos in the description, which include paint meter readings.
On the inside, the Silk Grey interior is super clean, with only minor wear on the high-touch points. The frunk, engine bay, and undercarriage are just as clean as you can see from the photos, which even include the inside of the removed wheels. Mechanically, this car has been well sorted and the seller includes a ton of service records along with compression test readings in the gallery. A very well presented car in probably the best condition we’ve seen thus far on a 25th Anniversary Coupe.
And all of that work paid paid off, as our Spotlight car brought the highest price paid for a Coupe in the last five years at a final bid of $112,000. That’s more than other recent comps with lower miles and a lower-mileage Satin Black Metallic example, which is a much rarer color. Well sold, but the new owner has one of the best 25th’s we’ve seen in their garage now.
