1989 911 Turbo Cabriolet

Was this 930 Cabriolet a deal, or a sign this market is turning as well?

For the 1987 model year, Porsche introduced two new body styles to the 930 Turbo range with the Targa and Cabriolet, and thanks to the reintroduction of the Turbo to the US, we received roughly 1,300 of the Cabriolets built during the three-year run.

This 1989 911 Turbo Cabriolet is a final-year example, with the G50 5-speed replacing the 915 transmission found in all previous generations of 930s. It is finished in Grand Prix White over Cashmere Beige leather, shows just 51,410 miles on the odometer, and is equipped with a limited-slip differential, Blaupunkt Radio, and Supple Leather Seats.

The exterior is very nice and has original paint, as shown by the paint meter readings in the photo gallery. The interior shows minor wear, typical for the light color and Supple Leather. Mechanically, the car has been well kept, with a history going back to 1993 and a major service completed in 2015. Overall, it is a very nice example of a desirable final-year Cabriolet.

The 930 Turbo market has steadily risen since 2020, with average pricing shy of $150,000. Our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $121,500, representing quite the buy for such a well-kept example. The last month has seen several no-sales at or below this final bid. Maybe it's a sign that these are flattening or coming down slightly. We’ll have to see a few more sales before calling that one.
