1990 911 Carrera 4 Coupe 5-Speed

Yay for the PCA!

Purchased in 2020 for $1, this 1990 911 Carrera 4 Coupe 5-Speed became the Porsche Club of America’s project car, being featured in many build videos over the last few years. Although it didn’t look in terrible condition upon arrival to PCA headquarters, it had been sat dormant for over ten years and was in need of some love. And thanks to support from so many PCA sponsors, it got the love it deserved.

On the outside, the Guards Red paint was corrected and corrosion below the windshield was addressed. The car wears 18” HRE 305 FMR wheels over 964 Turbo front and 993 rear brakes. On the inside, a pair of Recaro Pole Position buckets have been trimmed in Black leather with patterned cloth inserts, with the pattern continuing to the Tan leather rear seats. Other work includes repair of the A/C system, replacing the fan shroud, fan hub, fan belts, negative battery cable, and intake boots along with overhauling the fuel system with a replacement tank, pump, filter, and so much more, all documented by service records and video’s on their YouTube channel.

Over the last twelve months, 964 C4 prices have been hovering just below $100,000 with a high of $171,000 and a low of $51,500. While our Spotlight car shows ~37k on the odometer, it has been repaired, but it looks to be about right looking at the CarFax and considering it sat for about ten years. It sold at a final bid of $130,000, which is at the high end of the mileage range. But considering EVERYTHING that was done to this one, I’d say the new owner got a deal, and the PCA made out as well. Always nice to see.
