1991 911 Carrera 2 Coupe
Low mileage cars still bring the money in the 964 market
New for the 1989 model year, Porsche’s 964 was touted as 85% “new” as compared to the car it replaced, the 911 Carrera 3.2. The exterior featured a smoother, integrated look to the bumpers and a new electric rear spoiler that raised at speeds above 50 mph. Powering the 964 was a new 3.6-liter M64 engine producing 247 hp through the standard Getrag G50 transmission. Other upgrades to the new 911 included redesigning the suspension using coil springs instead of torsion bars with MacPherson struts up front and semi-trailing arms in the rear.
This 1991 911 Carrera 2 Coupe 5-speed is finished in Grand Prix White over Black leather and shows just 56,000 miles on the odometer. It comes with power-adjustable seats, cruise control, and a sound system with an amplifier from the factory. Modifications include Bilstein PSS10 coilovers, 18” BBS multi-piece wheels, and a J-pipe exhaust system without mufflers.
The Grand Prix White paint is in excellent condition and shows even paint meter readings all around. The interior, engine bay, and undercarriage are just as clean. Mechanically, the car has been very well kept with an engine-out service in July 2023, and a stack of previous service receipts accompanies the car.
Although we’ve seen some lower sales for 964s this year, the average price has continued to rise from about $90,000 at the end of 2022 to where it sits at $110,000 today. At 56,000 miles, it sits on the lower end of the mileage spectrum, so it was no surprise that this example fetched $135,000. A market-correct sale here.
