1991 911 Carrera 2 Coupe 5-Speed
Blue on Blue brings the money
Debuting in 1989, the 964 marked a major leap forward for the 911, blending timeless design with modern engineering. Its sleek body featured integrated bumpers and a retractable rear spoiler, enhancing aerodynamics while preserving the iconic silhouette. Underneath, the 964 introduced a completely reworked suspension with coil springs, replacing the torsion bars for improved handling and comfort. Power came from a new 3.7L flat-six producing 247 horsepower, offering a smoother and more potent driving experience. Advanced features like ABS brakes and power steering brought contemporary refinement to the 911, making the 964 a pivotal chapter in Porsche’s evolution.
Today’s Spotlight car, this 1991 911 Carrera 2 Coupe 5-Speed was finished in Cobalt Blue over a Blue interior and showed 90,720 miles on the odometer. The car looked to be in very nice condition from the photos in the gallery but missing were paint meter readings and for some reason, I couldn’t click on the Seller’s Disclosure. With that, I couldn’t really see any other history other than the fact that this 964 C2 was recently imported into the US.
964 Carrera 2 Coupes have been on the up and up over the last few years with prices going from ~$62k at the end of 2022 to an average of just over $100k today. Over the last twelve months, prices have been fairly flat though, with a high of $160,000 for a 66k-mile Signal Green example in July of this year. Our Spotlight car sold at a very strong final bid of $118,000, making it the highest price we’ve seen for a car with over 90k-miles in the last twelve months. Well sold.
