1991 911 Carrera 2 Coupe 5-Speed
Is Singer responsible for the rise in 964 prices? Or is something else at play here?
Every 964 Coupe auction usually has a comment or two about how Singer has affected values as the model has provided the base for their Classic, DLS, and now Turbo Study restomods. Given that Singer Classics have paused production at around 450 cars, Turbo Studies have about 70 cars in the order bank, and DLSs are capped at 75 units, that’s only 1.5% of regular C2/4 Coupes and Targas produced during the production run. What’s really driven prices? Probably the fact that 964s are such great cars to drive.
This 1991 911 Carrera 2 Coupe 5-speed is finished in Grand Prix White over a Cobalt Blue leather interior and shows 59,000 miles on the odometer. While this example was lightly optioned from the factory, it now features a Steve Wong ECU chip and Porsche Classic Communication Management head unit.
The White paint is in good condition with normal wear, just some filled-in stone chips and light scratches. Paint meter readings are provided in the gallery and meter out evenly. On the inside, the rear seats have been removed, with the rest of the leather showing in very nice condition. Mechanically, the car looks to have last been serviced in 2021, and the seller notes some oil seepage from various seals. Overall, a solid driver that could use a little work.
The market for 964 Coupes has been on the rise since 2020 and shows no signs of stopping, going from an average of about $60k back then to over $100k today. Our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $138,000, right in line with recent comps with similar mileage. Solid result here.
