1991 911 Carrera Coupe 5-Speed RUF RCT Evo Conversion

Those three letters pushed this modified 964 through the RUF

The RUF Carrera Turbo, or RCT for short, was RUF’s take on the 964 with touches like a turbocharged 3.6-liter engine pushing 370 horsepower, RUF-designed 6-speed transmission, and upgraded brakes, suspension, and aerodynamics. While RUF offered the RCT package from 1992 to 1997, they decided to bring it back in the early 2020s as the RCT Evo.

This 1991 911 Carrera Coupe 5-Speed was upgraded to RUF RCT Evo-specification by RUF Canada. Completed in 2024, the car featured an aluminum bonnet and doors and was refinished in Linden Green. On the inside, the interior was refreshed with Tan leather front bucket seats along with RUF sill plates, a RUF steering wheel, and RUF’s iconic green-lettered instrumentation. Out back, the 3.6-liter was built to put out 425 horsepower and push the car to a 198 mph top speed. Not quite Yellowbird territory, but fast enough to put you in jail.

We’ve seen a few RUF-modified examples among the slew of built 964s over the years, but only Singers have sold over the $500,000 mark. Our Spotlight car became the first non-Singer to do so, hamming at a final bid of $661,500 thanks to its fresh conversion. It seems well sold, but I wonder what the cost to build was.
