1991 911 Carrera Coupe Reimagined by Singer
4.0s always bring over $1m, right? ...Right?

When it comes to custom 964s, Singer holds the top-end of the market with cars selling on either side of the $1m mark and up, while all other modified examples fetch below $500,000. And for good reason, they are an absolute work of engineering and carbon-fiber art. Now, when I say either side of the $1m mark, this has been due to engine size, with 4.0-liter cars selling over $1m and the 3.8-liter cars selling for just shy of $1m. Until now.
This 1991 911 Carrera 2 Coupe was Reimagined by Singer between 2020 and 2023 and showed just 68 miles on the build. It came finished in Blue with Red Porsche script on the sides and Red “highlighted” wheels. On the inside, the cabin came trimmed in a Monticello (Red) leather interior with Blue leather weave, Blue carpets, and all of the details that make a Singer special. Out back, this example featured an Ed Pink-built 4.0-liter engine with Monticello quilted leather in the engine bay and the beautiful ceramic-coated singer plenum topping the individual throttle bodies.
Like I said, over the last twenty-four months, 4.0-liter Singers have brought over $1m on a consistent basis, with the few that were bid below that mark not selling quite some time ago. Our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $966,000, so what gives? Well, currently there are four other Singers on the market with another in the hopper at Barrett-Jackson crossing the block this weekend. This is the highest number of cars I can remember being on the market at any given time. And probably reflected in this sale.
