1991 928 GT

Was a great color combo and lack of sunroof enough to push this 928 GT to new heights?

Porsche’s 928 GT stood out as a more performance oriented variant of their grand touring lineup with a bump in horsepower along with their innovative “Weisssach axle” to improve handling and stability and lightweight design elements which included forged alloy wheels. Offered only with a 5-speed manual transmission, the GT also differed from the standard 928 models with Sport Seats, slightly wider fenders, and an integrated rear spoiler making it a more sought-after model appealing to drivers who wanted grand touring comfort with a bit of sportiness.

This Japanese-market 1991 928 GT is finished in Amazon Green Metallic over a Black leather interior with Studio Cloth inserts and shows 136,000 km (~84k miles) on the odometer. It came sans-sunroof and optional Sport Shock Absorbers and Green Graduated Tinted Windshield. The car looks to be in good condition with the seller providing plenty of detailed photos in the gallery along with paint meter readings (with signs of paintwork), and recent service invoices.

928 GT prices have remained fairly steady over the past few years after a bit of a bump from 2022 to 2023. Average prices have been around $47,000 with a twelve-month high of $95,000 for a 25k-mile example sold in May of this year. Our Spotlight car failed to sell at a final bid of $57,428. With mileage comps in the $45-50,000 range, I’d say that was a decent price for the great color combination and lack of a sunroof. I’d imagine we’d have to be close here. Maybe a few more thousand would have got it done.
