1992 911 America Roadster 5-Speed

A prime example of a rare Cabriolet

When I first got into the car business, I was convinced all America Roadsters were automatic as I’d never seen one with a manual transmission, in person, or for sale online. But thanks to the proliferation of online auctions, it seems I was way off as the majority of cars to cross the block have been 5-speed manual examples. Sometimes, I love being wrong.

This 1992 911 America Roadster is one such 5-speed equipped example built to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 356 America Roadster. Finished in Black over a Light Gray leather interior, our Spotlight car shows just 55,000 miles on the odometer and was optioned with Heated, Power-Adjustable Supple Leather Seats and a Limited-slip Differential.

The Black paint appears to be in very good condition with minimal wear and the seller shows even paint meter readings, from the fanciest paint meter I think I’ve ever seen, in the gallery. The Light Gray interior is very clean, which is a feat in itself as it is liiiigghhht. The maintenance book shows plenty of service stamps early on, but doesn’t have much past the mid-2000s. The seller states that the battery was changed in the past five years and the clutch was replaced in 1997.

With only 250 units produced, comps are few and far between with only 13 examples sold in the past five years. We saw a big jump in price between 2021 and 2022 and averages have seemed to remain steady ever since. Our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $114,690, which seems pretty strong considering cars with half the mileage selling around the $120k mark. Condition of the car drove the price here, just imagine if it had a full service history.
