1992 911 Carrera 2 Coupe Modified
Less than the sum of its parts

When this Backdated 1992 911 Carrera 2 Coupe failed to sell a little over a week ago at a final bid of $192,964, I had called it a little light considering the amount of work that went into it. But what I didn’t see at the time, was the two prior auctions that hammered significantly over that number: $275,000 in May of 2023 and $355,000 in June of 2022.
Built by Olsen Motorsports in 2017, this 964 was fitted with custom carbon-fiber bodywork which included the long-hood nose section, roof, fender flares, and bumpers. It was painted a custom Purple Metallic and featured Grey Porsche script on the sides and 17” Fuchs-style wheels. On the inside, the cabin featured Recaro sports seats in Dark Grey leather and Alcantara with matching door panels, and carbon-fiber everywhere.
But out back was where this one truly shined. The M64 engine was rebuilt to 4.0-liters of displacement with an 11.5:1 compression ratio and the parts list was quite extensive with CP thermal coated pistons, Nikasil-coated cylinders, Ninemeister billet heads, Euro RS-style camshafts, 51mm Jenvy individual throttle bodies, a MoTeC M-130 ECU, dual oil coolers, a Green Cars oil pump, and a custom dual exhaust system. And then there’s the suspension and trans.
If you take Singers out of the equation, this was up there in the hierarchy of 964 Coupe builds, which have averaged ~$250,000 over the past twelve months with a high of $413,000 for a very nice 3.8-liter car. Our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $224,964, which while more than it’s previous bid, was still light for the build in my opinion. Very well bought.
