1993 911 Carrera 2 Coupe 5-Speed

Did the lack of a sunroof on this Japanese-market 964 prop up the price, or were faults to much to overlook?

Japanese-market 964s were a hot commodity here in the US once they hit the magic 25 years old as these RoW cars often came without sunroofs and typically sport low miles, just like this recently imported 1993 911 Carrera 2 Coupe 5-Speed.

Finished in Midnight Blue Metallic over a Blue leather interior, this 55,000km (~34k miles) example sports 17” Cup wheels along with an aftermarket RUF steering wheel and has been serviced in preparation for sale. The Midnight Blue Metallic paint does show some wear for the mileage with a scratch on the front bumper cover and some cracks in the rear. On the inside, the Blue leather looks to be in good condition with minimal wear save for what looks like a small repair on the passenger seat side bolster.

In preparation for the sale, the selling dealer notes that the clutch pedal travel is short and has bled the system along with replacing the battery and changing the oil. They include notes from their inspection along with compression test readings but do not include paint meter readings in the gallery.

Over the last twelve months 964 prices have continued to creep upwards with average prices sitting at about $112,000. Our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $124,000, above average, but a little light when looking at comps with similar mileage. While sunroof-less RoW examples typically bring a bit of a premium, wear, lack of paint meter readings, and more of an in-depth service history kept this one on the lower side. Could be well-bought once the new owner addresses some of those concerns.
