1993 911 RS America
Low mileage but not much to document it
Produced exclusively for the North American market, the 911 RS America was a lightweight, driver-focused version of the 964 Carrera 2 that stripped away non-essential features like rear seats and power options to focus on performance and simplicity. Designed for purists, the RS America featured an upgraded sport suspension with stiffer springs and shocks along with unique details such as fabric door pull straps and manually adjustable sport seats.
This 1993 911 RS America is one of the 701 produced and came finished in Black over a Black interior and showed just 15,400 miles on the odometer. Of the four options offered for the RSA, this one featured two: A/C and radio while omitting the sunroof and LSD. The car had been slightly modified with red-painted brake calipers, RUF pedals, and a Racing Dynamics front strut brace. With such low mileage, I would have like to see more documentation along with pant meter readings, and so did bidders.
Comps with under 20k have seen bids in the $183-240k range over the past twelves months with average prices of $175,000 and average mileage around 50k. Our Spotlight RSA failed to sell at a final bid of $155,964, a price more aligned with much higher mileage examples. More documentation to fill in the gaps in the CarFax, paint meter readings, and more service history would have helped here. Maybe next run.
