1993 968 Club Sport

We always want to taste what we couldn't have when new

Designed with the weekend racer in mind, Porsche’s 968 Club Sport was a stripped down version of their 944 replacement with larger wheels, larger disc brakes, and a stiffer suspension. While it shared the same 3.0-liter engine with the standard 968, further reinforcements were installed in the engine compartment between the dampers’ towers to aid in handling. Limited to roughly 1,538 cars, we never saw the Club Sport here on our shores, making it very desirable now that they are over 25 years old.

Today’s Spotlight car, this 74,000 km (~46,000 miles) 1993 968 Club Sport, is finished in Grand Prix White with body-colored 17” Cup Wheels and a Black interior modified with Recaro bucket seats, although the removed seats come with the car. Originally a Belgian car, it was imported into Canada under previous ownership before being imported to the US by the selling dealer in 2023.

The Grand Prix White paint appears to be in nice condition, although the color of the bumpers look a bit off to me. There is no mention of paintwork in the listing and paint meter readings in the gallery are even all around. The Black interior looks to be in nice condition as well as the trunk compartment, engine bay and undercarriage. Mechanically, the car looks to be well maintained and comes with a stack of service records with the most recent being from February of this year.

As you would imagine, with a limited number produced and only a handful imported into the US, comps aren’t very plentiful. The last two examples offered here in the US were a 54k-mile example finished in Maritime Blue that failed to sell at a high bid of $66k and a 67k-mile example, also in Maritime Blue, that sold for $78k.

Our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $62,000, which to me, seems to be a very good price based on condition, mileage, and service history. Yes, Maritime looks amazing, but I’d want the best example I could find no matter the color. Well bought if you ask me.
