1994 928 GTS 5-Speed

This GTS joined the mile-high price club thanks to low miles and condition

Representing the final evolution of Porsche’s front-engined V8 GT, the 928 GTS delivered the most powerful version ever seen with 345 horsepower wrapped in a body slightly modified compared to the previous variations. As one of the priciest cars on the road in the early ‘90s, only 407 examples ended up in North America with only a handful of those equipped with 5-speed transmission.

This 1994 928 GTS is one such US-delivered 5-speed example and came finished in Grand Prix White over a Beige Supple Leather interior with Heated Seats and Velour Floor Mats from the factory. Showing just 19,000 miles on the odometer, this GTS looked to be in stunning condition as evidenced by hundreds of detailed photos in the gallery which included tons of service records, compression test results, paint meter readings, and its original window sticker showing an MSRP of $87,249.

When I featured this example last week it was already bid to $120,000 with seven days left to go in the auction. I stated that if we were going to see a 928 GTS back in the $200’s, this would be the one, and it didn’t disappoint, selling at a final bid of $232,000. Not quite enough for a five-year high, but still in the rarified air of $200k+ 928s.
