1995 911 Carrera RS

How did this homologation special fare?

The 993 Carrera RS is renowned for its exceptional performance and exclusivity, crafter as a lightweight, track-optimized variant in order to homologate the Carrera Cup 3.8 RSR for competition. With a powerful 3.8-liter engine and a focus on reducing weight through the removal of non-essential features and the use of lighter materials, it delivers a raw and exhilarating driving experience. Enhancements in suspension and brakes further refine its agility and handling. Adding to its allure, only 1,104 units were produced, making it a coveted piece among collectors.

This 1995 911 Carrera RS was originally sold new in Japan and found its way into Europe before being imported into the US by the selling dealer. This 47,177km (~26k miles) example was optioned with Clubsport spoilers, power windows, power steering, a stereo, airbags, and air conditioning.

The Polar Silver metallic is in excellent condition. The seller notes that the front hood and bumper were refinished and provides paint meter readings in the gallery. The interior is excellent as well and the seller has photographed every nook and cranny of the frunk, engine compartment, and undercarriage. Mechanically, the car looks to be well sorted and includes a three-ring binder full of receipts, even some in Japanese which is pretty cool. Overall, a very nice example of a rare air-cooled beast.

993 Carrera RS have averaged a bit below the $400,000 mark over the last five years with a most recent high of $578k for a 10,000-mile example sold over in the UK followed by $555,000 for the one sold at The White Collection last year. The vast majority of cars fall in the sub-$400k category, which is where this one landed at a final bid of $370,000. About right where it should be. Fair deal, but a great example.
