1996 911 Turbo
As far as modified 993 Turbos go, this one is a stunner, looks-wise
We’ve seen some very cool 993 builds recently, including this 1996 911 Turbo which sold in February of this year for $197,999. But due to front bumper damage during transport to the winning bidder, the dealer got it back, and did a little bit better this time around. Good thing, as they had to replace the front bumper.
Finished in Paint to Sample Brilliant Silver over a Leather to Sample Raspberry Red interior, this German-market 993 Turbo has been modified with bolt-on fender flares, a GT2-spec rear wing, and other revised bodywork for a great tribute to the 993 GT2. The paint shows a few chips and wear, nothing to crazy for an 80,000 km (~49k miles) car, and the car has paintwork in addition to the replacement bumper.
On the inside, the Raspberry Red leather is in excellent condition and the seller notes that the left door check-strap is broken. Mechanically, the engine is stock and the car comes with a pile of service records as seen in the gallery along with hundreds of detailed photos and pictures of the damage to the front bumper. A great looking example, but I would have addressed the few minor issue prior to re-sale if I was doing work to the bumper anyway.
As far as custom 993s go, there are three tiers to the market. At the top we see Gunther Werks cars at $1m+ followed by RUF-modified cars approaching $500k. At the lower end of the market we see modified examples in the $140-200k range, which is right were this one landed at a final bid of $200,000. A strong sale given the stock engine, but that GT2 kit sure does look good. Fair deal here.
