1996 911 Turbo X50

It's been a while since we've seen a 993 Turbo sale. Did this rare example break that streak?

It’s been a tough run for 993 Turbos over the last month with not a single example selling since $201,000 was achieved for a 57,000-mile example back in the beginning of June. You might say it’s only been just over a month, but it wasn’t too long ago I felt like this was the 993 Turbo Market Letter.

This 1996 911 Turbo is a rare X50-equipped example which utilizes an additional oil cooler, revised turbochargers, and an adapted ECU. Finished in Night Blue Metallic over a Midnight Blue Supple Leather interior, this German-market example is now being sold out of France and shows 120,000km (~74k miles) on the odometer.

The Night Blue Metallic paint shows some wear in the way of chips on the leading edges of the front and what appears to be a crack in the rear bumper just over the driver’s side exhaust tip. I’m also assuming that the pictures of the Silver 993 Turbo with numbers on it are paint meter readings, and if that is the case, the hood and left front fender appear to have been painted. If those aren’t paint meter readings, you’ve got me.

On the inside the Midnight Blue Sport Seats show some wear on the bolsters and dimples in the headrest of the passenger seat, but overall, very nice. Mechanically, the car has been maintained well and comes with a plethora of service records in the gallery with the K16 turbocharges having been rebuilt in June 2024.

The last X50 993 Turbo we saw sell was a 70,000-mile example that initially failed to sell at a bid of $184,000 before closing at a price of $210,000 in PCARMARKET’s Deal Tank in May. With this car being located in France, the final bid of $205,000 doesn’t seem to far off, especially for the mileage and condition. Another that should have sold.
