1997 911 Carrera 4S 6-Speed
After a couple big sales last week, how did this RoW C4S fare?
My father, Mr. Whitlock, got lucky last week as he was watching RM online, two 993 Carrera 4S’ crossed the block selling for $263,200 and $291,000. His wife, who happened to be casually watching while reading leaned over and said, “have you updated the value of yours with your insurance company lately?”
While those two sales represent the eye-watering top of the market, average prices for 993 C4S have continued to creep up over the last twelve months gaining about $7,000 from the $131k average back in August 2023. But that’s for sales here in the US. Over in Europe, on the hand, they’re still a bit lower.
This 1997 911 Carrera 4S 6-Speed is one such European car as it was offered out of Oslo, Norway. It comes finished in Ocean Blue Metallic over a Classic Grey leather interior and shows 126,000 km (~78k miles) on the odometer. Optioned with heated Sport Seats, Stainless tailpipes and sill plates, and aluminum on the interior, this example was repainted in 2008 and lacks documentation like service records, and more importantly, a title, as Norway doesn’t issue titles, apparently.
It sold at a final bid of $102,000, at the bottom of the 60-80,000-mile range. But for a car with paintwork, lacking documents, and located in Norway, that sounds pretty well sold to me.
