1997 911 Carrera S 6-Speed

The one to have

Taking its bodywork from the 993 Turbo, the 993 Carrera S was not only wider, but featured a stiffer and lowered suspension to work with its wider rear tires to lap the track faster than its Carrera 2 sibling. And with only 3,714 units built compared to 46,923 of the regular Carrera 2, it has become “the one to have” when it comes to naturally aspirated 993s.

This 1997 911 Carrera S Coupe 6-Speed is finished in Ocean Blue Metallic over a Black leather interior and shows 51,689 miles on the odometer. The car appears to be in good condition from the photos provided in the gallery and the seller notes that Euro-spec bumpers were added under previous ownership and some areas show prior paintwork as seen in the video provided. Mechanically, the car is said to have been serviced but details are hard to see in the photos. Personally, I’d like to know what had been done.

The market for 993 Carrera S’ has been slowly climbing after a big jump between 2021 and 2022 where average prices went from ~$95,000 to $133,000 in the span of twelve months. Since 2022, prices have continued to climb to an average of $164,000 with a high sale of $290,000 for a gorgeous 33k-mile example with an Aerokit and a low of $97,000 for a 92k-mile Arena Red example. Our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $185,000. A strong sale for the mileage range and for a car with paintwork and questions around service history. Well sold.
