1998 911 Carrera 4S
You either loved this one, or hated it

The Porsche 993 Carrera 4S is a standout in the 911 lineage, combining the all-wheel-drive powertrain of the Carrera 4 with the aggressive widebody styling of the 993 Turbo. While it didn’t receive the Turbo’s forced induction, it retained the naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine, producing a healthy ~282 horsepower. The 4S shared the Turbo’s 18-inch alloy wheels, larger brakes, upgraded suspension, and refined interior appointments, giving it an impressive performance and luxury edge over the standard Carrera models. Visually, it closely mirrored the Turbo, minus the signature rear wing, with its flared rear fenders and lower stance making it one of the most visually striking and sought-after air-cooled 911s.
This 1998 911 Carrera 4S came finished in a bit of a controversial color combination, at least within my family, as either some of us hated it, while others loved it. Actually, it was just me that loved the Pastel Yellow over Nephrite Green Special Leather interior. Other options on this 29,000-mile example include Engine Sound Package, pleated leather seats, a leather dashboard, Sport Suspension, and more. It also looked to be in very nice condition from the images in the gallery which included paint meter readings and piles of records.
Over the last twelve months, Carrera 4S have averaged around the $150,000 mark with a high of $291,000 for a 12,757-mile Aerokit-clad example that sold in August of last year. While this one lacked the Aerokit and had some more miles, it saw a final bid of $216,000, the highest bid for a C4S over 20,000 miles all year. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to take it home, as it looks like the seller want’s something closer to $275,000. I guess you gotta pay up for that 1-of-1 uniqueness.
