2003 996 GT2
The market for GT2s appears to soften as this 4,900-mile example is stolen

Combining the sporting character of the 996 GT3 and the power and performance of the 996 Turbo, Porsche’s 996 GT2 became the fastest 911 of its time in straight-line speed and Nurburgring lap times. Limited to just 1,287 cars worldwide, only 303 examples made their way to the US during its five-year run, making it one of the most sought-after 911s of its generation.
The market for 996 GT2s remained relatively steady from 2019 into 2020 before rising through 2021 into the Summer of 2022, where we saw a five-year high of $387,000 for an 86-mile example sold on Bring a Trailer. Since then, prices have remained relatively flat, maybe even a little light compared to peak 2022, with an average sales price of just over $160k in the last twelve months.
This 2003 911 GT2 is finished in Black over Black leather and features a whole host of extended leather options and interior Aluminum trim. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much leather, as the speaker covers, instrument frame, air vents, dashboard trim, ignition lock, and defroster trim are all covered in leather, while the center console, instrument dials, and steering wheel feature aluminum-look accents. Other options include stainless steel tailpipes, sill plates, and painted Sport seat backrests—quite the options list on this 4,900-mile example.
It is presented impeccably with perfect Black paint with paint meter readings, a perfect interior, and an engine bay and undercarriage you could eat off. It has a complete set of books, two keys, and a clean CarFax with an extensive service history. While not the lowest mileage example we’ve seen, it’s down there, making this one a collector-quality car.
It sold at a high bid of $282,000, making it the lowest-priced sub-5,000-mile 996 GT2 since 2020 and the first to trade below $250k since the 2021/2022 run. Even in a softer market.
