2004 911 GT3
Was Speed Yellow the driving factor in the final bid of this excellent GT3?
While the biggest change for the 996.2 GT3 was the fact that we finally got the model here in the States, Porsche’s new GT brought several key upgrades and refinements over the earlier car. The 996.2 GT3 offered a power boost to 381 hp, with improved intake and exhaust tuning enhancing throttle response. Revised suspension geometry and the addition of Porsche Stability Management increased control, while upgraded brakes with optional ceramics improved stopping power. Aerodynamic tweaks, including a new rear wing and updated front bumper, enhanced downforce, making the 996.2 GT3 even more capable on the track than its predecessor.
Today’s Spotlight car, this 2004 911 GT3, is finished in Speed Yellow over a Black Full Leather interior with Yellow stitching and a body-colored center console. With 19,000 miles on the odometer, this example looks to be in very good condition as evidenced by the hundreds of detailed photos, even paint meter readings, service history, and DME report in the gallery. The car has been modified with GMG racing mufflers and sport cats, so she not only looks mean, she sounds mean as well.
While some models of older GT3s have been on the rise, 996.2 GT3s have dipped a bit going from an average of $114,000 at the beginning of the year to sit at just over $100,000 today. But our Spotlight car beat out the market, selling at a final bid of $142,000. Thanks to options, color, and condition, this one was up there with comps with almost half the mileage. Well sold.
