2004 911 Turbo GT3

A tracked-out GT3 for some track-time fun

While I eagerly await the first 996.1 GT3 to hit a US auction site, I’ve been keeping a close eye on the 996.2 GT3 market, which has softened over the last twelve months going from an average price of $145,000 in August of last year to just over $100k today.

This 2004 911 GT3 is finished in Carrara White over a Black leather interior and shows just over 25,000 miles on the odometer. It has been modified with coilovers with H&R springs, adjustable front and rear sway bars, and a Fabspeed exhaust system. All signs of track use, which is where this one had an oops resulting in the repair of the right rear quarter panel after an incident. The seller also notes that the front bumper was replaced and refinished (most likely from the 2007 accident on the CarFax) with hood latches added at the time as well.

With any track car, a DME report along with service records is always nice. Unfortunately the seller wasn’t able to get the car into a shop in order to answer requests for the DME report and the CarFax only lists a handful of service entries. My guess is this one was ripped on track, as it should have been.

That being said, I was expecting quite a deal on this GT3, and at a final bid of $85,000, my expectations were met as it is down there with the lowest prices paid for examples over 20,000 miles. Seller knew what it was, and the buyer most likely got what they wanted: a great price for a GT3 that’s ready to get back on the track. Fair deal.
