2004 911 Turbo S Coupe

This 996 Turbo S had all the fixings for a new high, but..

At the end of the 996 Turbo production run, Porsche brought back the Turbo S variant as a proper send-off to the successful, first water-cooled Turbo model. The 996 Turbo S received a full suite of standard options, most notably, the X50 Power Kit and PCCB brakes. Only 1,500 units were produced worldwide, with 598 of them coming to the US, making the 996 Turbo S a rare and sought-after car.

Today’s Spotlight car, this 2004 911 Turbo S Coupe, is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Black full leather with deviated stitching and shows just 2,800 miles on the odometer. It is highly optioned with the Turbo Aerokit, aluminum-look heated sport seats, Speed Yellow seatbelts, yellow instrument dials, a Carbon Interior Package, and much more, with an original MSRP of $161,915.

As one would expect, the car is immaculate. The paint is original, as evidenced by the paint meter readings provided in the gallery, and the interior, including the Carbon bits, is near perfect. The engine bay and undercarriage are exceptionally clean, having benefited from dry ice blasting prior to sale, and one could even eat off of the insides of the wheels. Just perfect.

After a lift in the market post-COVID, 996 Turbo S Coupes have flattened out over the last year, with average prices hovering around the $90,000 mark. The high point for the model came in August 2022 with a 15,000-mile example selling for $229,600 at Gooding’s Pebble Beach sale.

Our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $206,000, making it a new twelve-month high and a solid second over the past five years. With the mileage, Aerokit, and other options, I thought this had the potential for a new five-year record. And although it fell short, I’m sure the seller was happy with the price. As for the buyer, they got one heck of an example. Well done for both parties.
