2004 Boxster S 550 Anniversary Edition 6-Speed
Stolen thanks to a replacement engine

To mark the final model year of the 986 Boxster, Porsche released the special Boxster S 550 Anniversary Edition paying homage to the original “giant killer” 550. The cars came finished in GT Silver Metallic over Cocoa Full Leather interiors although Grey Natural Leather could be ordered as a no-cost option. Other enhancements included two-tone Carrera wheels, a Boxster S Sport Exhaust, and the M030 Sports Suspension. Only 1,953 cars were built with 500 coming here to the US, making the 550 Edition quite desirable, especially for this guy (me!).
This 2004 Boxster S 550 Anniversary Edition 6-Speed came finished in the classic GT Silver Metallic over Cocoa color combination and showed 45,000 miles on the odometer. The car looked to be in good condition with paint meter readings in the gallery but we never did get much in the way of service records other than what was listed on the CarFax. The engine was replaced by the previous owner with work completed at a Porsche dealership, which might have come into play with the final bid.
Over the last twelve months only three other 550 Editions have crossed the block here in the US, selling between $26,000 and $30,000 with 56k on the lower side and 5k on the upper. Our Spotlight car sold just shy of that lower bid at $23,000, most likely due to some being turned off by the engine replacement. A great deal in my opinion. I kind of wish I was ready to buy.
