2005 911 Turbo S Cabriolet 6-Speed
High miles and an accident set a new low for this Turbo S
The 996 Turbo S marked an era when the “S” variant signified the final and most refined version of the Turbo before a model change - a departure from today’s lineup where both Turbo and Turbo S models are offered concurrently. To mark the end of the 996 Turbo, the S received a notable increase in power to 450, thanks to the factory-fitted X50 power kit, and as the flagship of the 996 generation, it featured top-tier options such as PCCB brakes.
This 2005 911 Turbo S Cabriolet 6-Speed came finished in Black over a Black Full Leather interior and showed 81,000 miles on the odometer. In addition to the standard fare on the Turbo S, this example features extra Aluminum in the interior along with Stainless-steel tailpipes. Browsing the gallery, the car looks to be in nice condition for the mileage (and being Black) but does show a 2011 accident on the CarFax. Missing from the gallery, though, are paint meter readings and service records, which probably would have helped here.
996 Turbo S Cabs. have been on a decline over the last few years with average prices going from just shy of $91,000 at the beginning of 2023 to sit at $78,000 today. With higher miles and an accident on the CarFax, our Spotlight car set a new five-year low at auction here in the US hammering at $47,500. Considering this was the highest mileage car we’ve seen in the past twelve months and ~50k-mile cars sitting in the $55-60k range, I’d say this was right on the money. Fair deal.
