2005 Boxster S 6-Speed
While 987s have been on the softer side, they aren't this soft.
While the 986 Boxster set the foundation for Porsche’s entry-level roadster, the next generation 987 brought significant improvements in design, interior quality, and performance when it hit the streets for the 2005 model year.
The exterior of the new Boxster moved further from the front-end design of the 911 with a more modern and aggressive look. On the inside, the interior was upgraded with higher-quality materials and a more refined cabin layout. Out back, or should I say in the middle, the Boxster’s performance took a jump with 240 hp in the base 2.7-liter and 280 hp in the 3.2-liter engine fitted to the S.
This 2005 Boxster S 6-Speed is finished in Black over Black leather and shows 50,000 miles on the odometer. The car was lightly optioned from the factory with Heated Front Seats, Sport Steering Wheel, Bi-Xenon Headlights, and BOSE and has been modified with an aftermarket head unit. The car shows a bit of wear with noted defects being a small dent on the hood, one on the right side rocker, and some scuffs on the front bumper cover. The car comes with a clean CarFax with service history as well as recent records from Porsche Tysons Corner.
987.1 prices have been in decline since hitting a peak average just over $30,000 in the spring of 2022. Over the last twelve months, averages have sat just above $25,000 with a recent high of $40,000 for a 20,000-mile 2008 Limited Edition. Our Spotlight car failed to sell at a final bid of $18,000, which was on the low end of comps. I think that with more detailed photos, paint meter readings, and a factory head unit, bids would have gotten across the $20k mark and closer to the price the seller had in mind. Better luck next round.
