2006 Boxster S 6-Speed
An excellent buy for a second-gen Boxster thanks to a softening market
The second-generation Porsche Boxster created some styling distance between the Boxster and 911 with a revised front end and headlight treatment and significant updates to the interior, making it very much its own car. Initially, the power came from a 2.7-liter, 236 hp flat-six for the base car, with the S variant getting a 3.2-liter, 276 hp unit. But for the 2007 model year, both flat-sixes were upgraded, with the standard car getting a bump of 5 hp and the S 15 hp more from a new 3.4-liter flat-six.
This 2006 Boxster S 6-speed is a 3.2-liter car finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Black leather and shows only 19,000 miles on the odometer. It is well-optioned with Porsche’s Preferred Package, Sport Chrono Package, 19” Carrera Classic Wheels, PASM, Sport Shifter & Steering Wheel, Heated Sport Seats, and Bose. The car features a Pioneer touchscreen head unit on the aftermarket side, and the side intake vents and wheels have been finished in black.
Our Spotlight car is presented in excellent condition, and features even paint meter readings in the listing’s photo gallery. The interior is clean, as are the luggage compartments and undercarriage. Overall, it's a lovely example of a 987.1 Boxster.
After peaking in the spring of 2022, the second-gen Boxster S market has been slowly softening as average prices have fallen from $30,000 to around an average of $26,000 today. Last month, this example failed to reach that average with a final bid of $25,000. This time, it was offered at no reserve and sold at a high bid of $29,000, making it the lowest sub-20,000-mile example we’ve seen in the last twelve months. The buyer got the timing right here, as this was an excellent example. Well done.
