2006 Cayman S 6-Speed

Was it the wheels?

Back when I first started selling Porsches in the early naughties, I longed for the day Porsche slapped a fixed hard-top on the Boxster, akin to the 550 Coupe that raced in the ‘53 & ‘54 Carrera Panamericana race. Eventually, Porsche made my (and many other enthusiast’s) dreams come true with the launch of the Cayman for the 2006 model year.

This 2006 Cayman S 6-Speed is a first-year model finished in Speed Yellow over a Black leather interior and showed 72,000 miles on the odometer. It came with Speed Yellow-painted interior bits, Yellow seat belts, and yellow-faced gauges, and has been modified with H&R lowering springs and Black 19” Fuchs-style wheels, although the removed components are included with the car. Overall, the car looked to be in good condition showing some normal wear pictured in the gallery along with paint meter readings, service records, and a DME report.

First-gen Cayman S have been looking more and more attractive each month, especially with average prices now sitting around $28,500. To get below the $30,000 mark regularly, you’ll still have to find a car with over 55,000 miles, but there are plenty as the average shows. Our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $27,250, which was on the higher end of recent comps, but not the highest by far. Fair deal though it was probably hurt a tad by the aftermarket parts, even though originals were included with the sale.
