Higher mileage be damned, 997 GT3s remain strong

Built to homologate Porsche’s 911 GT3 RSR racecar, the 997 GT3 was a considerable step up from the 996 it replaced as it was the first GT car to feature Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and zero-lift bodywork. Powering the new GT3 was a 3.6-liter flat-six producing 415 horsepower and a redline of 8,400 rpm. A track-day and road car masterpiece, the 997 GT3 is considered one of the greats still to this day.
Our Spotlight car, this 35,000-mile 2007 911 GT3, is finished in a not-often-seen shade of Midnight Blue Metallic paint over a Dark Grey Natural leather interior. It features Porsche’s Sport Chrono Package, Sound Package Plus, and Adaptive Sport Seats from the factory as well as aftermarket components such as a Shark Werks center-muffler bypass pipe and SS coolant elbows, RSS Tarmac Series engine mounts, a BMC high-flow air filter, an RS-specific crankshaft puller, and upgraded clutch.
The car appears to be in excellent condition from the almost 300 photos. The body looks clean, and paint meter readings show even paint depths all around. The black interior is in very nice condition and is set off nicely by the red seatbelts and gauges, and features a Kenwood head unit with an amplifier and Focal speakers.
Detailed shots of the engine bay, undercarriage, removed wheels, and extra parts complete the listing, along with plenty of service receipts and documentation, making this an extremely well-presented example of a great car.
The market for 997 GT3s has remained strong over the last twelve months, with the previous few sales this past month showing an upward trend. At a final bid of $143,000, this 35,000-mile example was at the top of prices paid recently, although a few higher mileage cars have been a few thousand dollars more. Still, it was a strong result, thanks to the effort put into the listing. Both parties should be happy with the price paid here.
