2007 911 Turbo Coupe 6-Speed

A strong sale in the face of a softening market

When the 997 Turbo launched at the Geneva Motor Show in February of 2006, it made waves throughout the automotive world as it was quite the upgrade over the previous generation 996 Turbo. New to the 997 Turbo was the use of Variable Turbine Geometry turbos, which changed the angle of attack on the turbo’s guide vanes depending on exhaust speed, and the option Sport Chrono Package which allowed the Turbo to overboost for ten seconds. The new car was also 90 lbs lighter thanks to extensive use of aluminum, and an additional 37 lbs could be saved with the optional PCCB brakes.

Today’s Spotlight car, this 2007 911 Turbo Coupe 6-Speed, is finished in Basalt Black Metallic over Black full leather and has 52,000 miles on the odometer. It is optioned with the overboosting Sport Chrono Package Turbo and PCCB brakes, as well as Heated Adaptive Sort Seats, Yellow Deviated Stitching, Yellow Seatbelts, and Yellow instrument dials.

The Basalt Black Metallic paint appears to be in good condition, and while the CarFax shows no accidents or damage, paint meter readings were not provided. The interior is also clean, but the amount of the engine and undercarriage photos set this listing apart for me. Pictures of the outside and inside of each wheel, multiple angles of the brakes, suspension components, and every nook and cranny that a camera could get to. I don’t think I’ve seen so many pics of an underside on a modern Porsche.

The detail in the photos and the excellent spec paid off for the seller as this Turbo sold for $98,500, putting it near the top of comps in the 50-60,000-mile range despite what has been a softening market over the last six months. Well sold, but deserved, for a Turbo that checks all of the boxes when it comes to options and condition.
