2008 911 Turbo Coupe

A 997 Turbo for 996 money? Yes please!

I spend a lot of time discussing 2009 997 Turbos, so earlier cars just haven’t been on my radar, until this 2008 911 Turbo Coupe sold for 996 Turbo money. Sure, the earlier 997 cars have Porsche’s Tiptronic transmission, but they also have the Mezger engine with VTG turbo technology, and most importantly, MOAR POWAHHHH.

This 2008 911 Turbo Coupe is finished in Black over Black and is nicely equipped with options such as Sport Chrono Package, a thicker steering wheel, and extra leather bits on the interior. Modifications are quite extensive with a Fabspeed carbon fiber intake, SpeedTech 3-inch stainless steel exhaust system, high-flow catalytic converters, a Softronic ECU tune, 991.2-generation intercoolers, 19-inch BBS CH-R Wheels, a carbon fiber front lip, GT2 RS-style carbon fiber rear deck lid, and more for lots of power and looks

With 65,700 miles on the odometer, the car does show some wear in the way of chips and small scratches on the outside, and some creases in the seats and wear on other interior touch points. The seller notes that the hood has been painted and the car comes with lots of service records over the last two years.

Tiptronic Turbo Coupes have been fairly flat over the last few years with average prices hovering on either side of $70k. Our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $65,000, which was right there with comps with similar mileage, so fair deal here. For $65k, you could get a 996 Tiptronic Turbo Coupe with maybe half the miles. For me, I think it would be power > miles. You?
