2008 Cayman S 6-Speed

Prices like this have 987 Caymans on my mind

Back in the late ‘90s when Porsche launched the Boxster, many wondered just how much better the already great-handling mid-engined sports car would be with a roof. Well, they found out at the 2004 Frankfurt Motor Show with the launch of the all-new Cayman. Based on the 987 Boxster platform, the Cayman shared many of the Boxster’s components, but featured revised settings in the suspension due to the stiffer chassis thanks to the car’s fixed roof.

This 2008 Cayman S 6-speed is finished in Carrera White over a Black leather interior and is optioned with Sport Seats, Bi-Xenon headlights, and BOSE. The car shows just under 30,000 miles on the odometer and comes with both keys, books, car cover, original window sticker, and a stack of service records.

The Carrera White paint looks to be in good condition from the photos in the gallery and the CarFax is clear of any accidents although there are no paint meter readings provided. The interior is in good condition as well with the only signs of wear being some scuffs on the door sills from climbing in and out of the car.

The service history, though, is where this car really shines as the seller has a folder with every service receipt from the cars life. A very nice car that has been extremely well cared for.

Average prices for the 987 Cayman S took a slight dip after last summer going from an average of $33,000 to an average of $29,000 today. With only 30,000 miles, our Spotlight car has better-than-average mileage, and it sold at a better-than-average price at a final bid of $33,000. But, with similarly driven comps being in the $35-38k range, does this mean that 987s are going to continue to fall? I certainly hope so, for completely selfish reasons.
