2010 911 GT3 RS
Up it goes, where it stops, no one knows
With more horsepower, less weight, upgraded body and suspension components, the 997.2 GT3 RS moved the needle forward for the legendary model-line. As the homologation model for Porsche’s 911 GT3 race car, Porsche sold roughly 1,619 units worldwide, making it very attractive to collectors today.
This 2010 911 GT3 RS is finished in Carrara White with Guards Red accents and wheels over a Black Full Leather with Alcantara interior. This 4,000-mile example was optioned with Porsche’s PCCB brakes, Sound Package Plus, Sport Chrono Package, Extended Carbon Package, and more for an original MSRP of $189,885 CAD.
The Carrara White paint is in excellent condition and has paint protection film installed on the front of the car. Paint meter readings are even and the CarFax shows no accidents. The Black interior is in excellent condition as well and has been fitted with an RSS 930 roll-cage and comes with OEM replacement carpets should the new owner wish to remove the cage.
The car comes with a completely documented maintenance history including a major 60k-kilometer service performed in 2015. Detailed pictures of the engine bay and undercarriage look tidy as do the close-up shots of the suspension. Overall, an extremely nice example of one of Porsche’s finest.
As I wrote a few days ago, the 997.2 GT3 RS market has been on the up and up and shows no sign of slowing down with a recent sale of a 12,000-mile example for $344,000 six days ago. The prior RS to that car was actually this car, as it failed to sell at a high bid of $318,000 back in January.
This time, however, our Spotlight car sold at a final bid of $340,000, a strong result compared to the last time it was bid, but not as much as the most recent sale. I would put that up to the difference in color as the $344,000 car was finished in Grey Black, a bit more desirable that Carrara White in my opinion. A solid result for a nice car, though where these stop is anyones guess.
