2010 911 Turbo Coupe 6-Speed
Lifting the reserve didn't pan out for the seller of this 997 Turbo
Making its debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the 997.2 Turbo featured 20 bhp more along with a weight reduction of 55 lbs and a new front end with LED directional indicators integrated into the larger cooling air intakes and daytime running lights shaped into the front bumper. But what really set the 997.2 Turbo apart was something that we wouldn’t know until the introduction of the 991 Turbo: it featured the last 6-speed transmission offered on a “Turbo” 911.
This 2010 911 Turbo Coupe is finished in Black over Black full leather with a 6-speed manual transmission and only 24,000 miles. The car features the optional Sport Chrono Package with dynamic engine mounts, extended leather on the dashboard and door panels, and 19” Split-spoke Turbo II wheels. The car appears to be in very good condition and has a clean CarFax history, although the listing does not provide paint meter readings.
Three years ago, the top of the market for a 997.2 6-speed Turbo was $120,000. Nowadays, even the highest mileage cars don’t sell below that, and prices now average around $140,000. The last time we saw this car, it sold just shy of a twelve-month high at $172,000. Since then, we’ve seen a few no-sales with similar mileage in the $145-153k range. So, was I surprised to see this one sell at a final bid of $145,000?
Yes. Even with a few no-sales, I thought this example would at least get over $155,000, and I’m shocked that the seller lifted the reserve and let this one go. But they had to make room for a recent Countach purchase, giving one lucky bidder one hell of a deal.
