2011 Boxster Spyder

A great example of Porsche's first-gen Spyder

First introduced in 2010, the Boxster Spyder was a purists’s take on the mid-engined roadster, emphasizing weight reduction and driving dynamics. By shedding approximately 176 lbs through lightweight components like aluminum doors and a manual fabric roof and increasing the horsepower of the 3.4-liter flat six over the standard Boxster S to 320, the Boxster Spyder provided enhanced performance and unfiltered driving pleasure.

This 2011 Boxster Spyder is finished in Platinum Silver Metallic over a Carrera Red leather interior with Black Alcantara seat inserts and shows 8,000 miles on the odometer. The exterior presents in very good condition with even paint meter readings all around as does the interior, top, and storage components. Add to that a stack of service records, and you have a very nice example of a first-generation Spyder.

Our Spotlight car sold back in May 2021 at a final bid of $71,500, which was the peak of Spyder pricing over the past five years. Since then, the seller has added just 1,000 miles to the odometer in what has been a pretty much flat market. It sold this time around at a final bid of $65,000. And even though that is a good chunk of change lower than the previous sale, it’s still the highest price paid for a Spyder over the last twelve months. A solid result that might look like a good buy in a few years as long as the new owner keeps the miles low. But with such a fun car to drive, that might prove difficult.
