2012 911 Turbo S Coupe 6-Speed

Was the highest bid we've ever seen enough to get it done?

The 997.2 Turbo was the last series production generation of 911 Turbo to be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission and featured numerous upgrades over the outgoing dot-one, mainly an all-new 3.8-liter engine producing 492 horsepower and 480 lb-feet of torque. The car also saw an upgrade to the looks with larger air intakes on the sides and bar-shaped LED turn-signals up front. Subtle, but just enough to let you know what was lurking beneath the rear decklid.

This 2012 911 Turbo Coupe 6-speed is the lowest mileage car we’ve seen in the last few years by far at only 253 miles. It is finished in GT Silver Metallic over a Sand Beige full leather interior and is optioned with PCCB brakes, Sport Chrono Package Turbo, Black Painted Wheels, and more for an original MSRP of $163,200.

As you would expect for a car with such mileage, the paint is absolutely perfect, as is the full leather interior. The engine bay is clean, and the undercarriage looks as if you could eat off of it. Paint meter readings are even, the DME report is clean, and records show the last servicing in 2022 for a new battery and fluid top-off. A remarkable example in collector-quality condition.

The market for 997.2 Turbos has been on a steady incline over the last few years, with average prices around $150k and a top sale of $179,000 for a 20,000-mile example sold in August 2021. Our Spotlight car was bid to $294,000 but failed to sell. While there aren’t any sales of 997.2 Turbo Coupes that compare to our high bid, we do have a sale of a 2009 997.1 Turbo Coupe 6-speed with only 78 miles at $285,997. So the final bid had to have been in the realm of the reserve. Hopefully, a deal was made after the sale.
