2015 911 Turbo Coupe
Did celebrity ownership push this low-mileage Turbo above the pack?
At launch in 2013, the 991 Turbo became the first Turbo model that was not available with a manual gearbox. Instead, all variations were equipped with a PDK transmission, and for the first time, the Turbo S was launched right along with the standard Turbo. Because of this, many more buyers chose the S over the Turbo, opting for more power, PCCBs, and Center Lock wheels, making the Turbo the rarer of the two.
This 2015 911 Turbo Coupe comes to auction from the George Foreman collection. Yes, that TV-grill-slinging former heavyweight champion George Foreman. The car is finished in White over a Black and Luxor Beige leather interior and has been driven only 447 miles since being purchased new by the champ.
The car is lightly optioned with Sport Chrono Package, a Sunroof, Ventilated 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, Light Design Package, and Colored Porsche Crest on the Wheel Center Caps. The car's exterior shows two small blemishes (very small), along with some corrosion of the rear deck lettering and yellowing rocker panel paint protection film. More a sign of sitting than anything. It comes with its original window sticker, owner’s manuals, tools with tire gel, and some service history.
The market for 991.1 Turbos has been fairly flat over the last couple of years, with an average of just over $100,000 and a high sale for a custom-built Turbo at $192,500 during Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale sale in January 2022. Comps for ultra-low mileage Turbos have seen bids of just shy of $130k, but both failed to sell. Our Spotlight car, however, sold at a final bid of $120,000.
Standard 991 Turbos aren’t exactly collector pieces, and the car will need a visit to your local Porsche Center for a thorough look after remaining in static storage, hence the price. Still, the buyer got a decent deal for what is basically a brand-new car. Well bought.
