2016 911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition 7-Speed

The end of an era

The 2016 911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition was a highly exclusive model with just 25 units produced to celebrate Rennsport Reunion V. Build just for the North American market, the RRE came finished in Fashion Grey with Red and Black stripes along with Porsche script on the doors. On the inside, the cabin featured Black leather and Alcantara with Carmine Red stitching, “Rennsport Reunion Edition” embossed on the armrests, carbon-fiber trim, and limited-edition badging.

Built on the 991.1 GTS platform, it boasted the highest-output naturally aspirated engine available on a non-GT 911, producing 430 horsepower, and was the final non-GT 911 to feature an N/A engine as the 991.2 introduced turbocharging to the standard 911s. With limited numbers and being the “end of an era,” the Rennsport Reunion is one of my picks for a future classic.

This 2016 911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition 7-Speed came finished in the model’s standard colorway and showed just 2,567 miles on the odometer. It looked to be in excellent condition from the limited photos, everything you’d expect from a low-mileage, special car.

Over the last two years, only a handful of Rennsport Reunion Editions have crossed the block with the last two sales hammering just below the $200,000 mark and the most recent car to cross the block failing to sell at a final bid of $166,000. That recent no-sale just happens to have been our Spotlight car, and it failed to sell yet again, but this time at a much stronger $185,000. Add in the buyer’s fee, and this would have been right on the money. Close.
